Questions
Asked before downloading.
Short answers. Where something is not done yet, the answer says so.
The basics.
What is Eyva?
Eyva is a personal AI assistant for your Mac. It works with your files, notes, calendar, mail and the web when you ask. It asks before anything that cannot be undone, and after each turn it shows a receipt: what it did, where each result came from, and whether anything left your computer.
Who is behind it?
Conserius Inc., a small, new software company incorporated in Delaware, with one product: Eyva. The contact page has the legal address and the e-mail addresses.
Is it a companion? Is it for everyone?
Eyva is an AI assistant that stays with you and remembers what you tell it. It is a program, not a person, and it says so: the AI disclosure has the details. Companion chatbots may not be suitable for some minors, so Eyva is for adults only: you must be 18 or older, and on first launch it asks. What it does if you may be in danger is in its crisis and safety protocol.
Your computer and the cloud.
Does Eyva run on my computer or in the cloud?
On your computer, by default. Local-only is on until you turn it off, and with it on nothing about a turn goes to Eyva’s cloud.
With the cloud allowed, four kinds of work can go to Eyva’s cloud brain: hard work, work that must be done carefully, writing code, and anything you tell it to send there. Everything else stays on your computer.
Does it need the internet?
Not for the work it does on your computer: the model that answers runs on your Mac, with or without internet. You need internet to download Eyva and its local model once, to look something up on the web when you ask, and for cloud turns.
Where does my data go?
What Eyva remembers about you is kept on your own disk, in one file, not on a server of ours. Your files stay where they are. When a turn goes to the cloud, the masked request is sent to Eyva’s cloud and the receipt says so.
Your account (e-mail address, plan, signed-in Macs) lives on our server. The privacy policy says what we keep, who processes it and for how long.
Today’s limitWhile Eyva is in use the memory file is not encrypted. A lockdown seals it, with the key in your Keychain.
What does the veil mask?
Before a request leaves, people, places, organisations, contact details, accounts and identity numbers in it become sealed tags, and a personal date becomes its year. Passwords and keys never leave. Sensitive subjects, such as health, are kept on your computer.
A masked request is shown to you before it goes, with Send, Keep local and Cancel. After the turn, its receipt says that the request went to the cloud.
Today’s limitHow often the veil misses a detail has not been measured yet, so we claim no rate. Pictures and sound are not sent to the cloud in this version.
Can it see my screen or use the camera?
Only when you ask. What it sees is read by the model on your computer, and camera pictures never go to the cloud. macOS asks your permission first, and only when a feature needs it.
Accounts, price and turns.
Do I need an account?
Not for anything on your computer. Cloud turns need a free account. You sign in with a six-digit code sent by e-mail. There is no password.
How much does it cost?
Everything Eyva does on your computer is free and never metered. The cloud is what costs: the free plan has 5 cloud turns a day, and Plus, Pro, Max and Ultra are $15, $40, $80 and $160 a month. Credit packs of $10 to $200 pay as you go. Prices are in US dollars, before tax. You buy inside the app. The pricing page has the details.
What is a turn?
One request from you and Eyva’s answer to it, including the abilities it uses on the way. Only turns on Eyva’s cloud count.
A turn count is a guide: the allowance is measured by cost, so a very long turn uses more than a short one. Your computer is never metered.
How do I cancel a plan?
In the app, under Settings → Account & plan → Manage subscription, which opens Stripe’s customer portal. A plan renews every month until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and the plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. You can also write to support@conserius.com.
Can I withdraw or get a refund?
Your legal rights always apply. If you live in the EU/EEA, the UK or Türkiye, you can withdraw from a paid plan within 14 days without giving a reason, and you get back the unused part of what you paid. Elsewhere our terms give no right to withdraw, and any right the law of your country gives you still applies. Withdraw in the app under Settings → Account & plan, or write to support@conserius.com. Your right to withdraw has the details.
Running it.
What do I need?
A Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 14 or later, and 16 GB of memory. 16 GB is the one size we have measured; on a Mac with a different amount, Eyva says that no model has been measured for it and suggests none.
About 2.3 GB of disk for the memory model, plus the local model.
Does it run on an Intel Mac?
No. Eyva needs a Mac with Apple silicon, an M1 chip or later. There is no Intel version, and no Windows version yet: Windows is planned, with no date.
Which macOS does it need?
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Every test so far has been on macOS 26; if you are on 14 or 15 and something does not work, please write to support@conserius.com.
How do I set up the local model?
There is nothing to set up. Eyva brings its own model runner. On first run it suggests a local model, shows its size, and downloads it when you say so. You can postpone it.
Today’s limitIts memory model downloads in the background the first time it opens.
Is it safe to install?
The app and its disk image are signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens them without a warning. The download page lists the file’s SHA-256 checksum so you can check your copy. Eyva asks macOS for a permission only when a feature needs it, and you can refuse. Found a security problem? The security policy says how to tell us.
Does it update itself?
No. When a new version exists it will be on the download page as a new download, and you replace the app in Applications. Eyva never installs over itself without you.
How do I uninstall it?
Drag Eyva out of Applications, then remove its data and local models if you want them gone. How to uninstall Eyva completely lists every place, step by step.
Your data.
How do I delete my data?
Ask Eyva to delete everything it has about you. It shows one card listing each store with its size. When you allow it, it erases each one and reads it back to prove it is gone. Its nightly backups follow after seven days.
For what we hold about your account, write to privacy@conserius.com to see it, correct it or delete it. We answer within 30 days. The privacy policy lists your rights.
